Changes to Registration renewal process
27 September 2011
Toyota Fleet Management has recently undertaken a review of our registration renewal processes and procedures.
Uncertainty surrounding vehicle supply as a result of the recent floods locally and the tsunami in Japan has highlighted this issue in recent weeks. Manufacturers and dealers have faced increased uncertainty relating to vehicle replacement dates and as a result last minute registration renewals have increased.
Similarly, service delivery from Motor Transport Authorities in most States has also been negatively impacted, in addition to their varying turnaround times in processing renewals and issuing new labels.
These contributing factors have made it harder for TFM to meet our agreed KPIs with customers regarding the receipt of new registration labels. Therefore, After carefully reviewing our processes, we have decided to make the following changes to ensure:
- no vehicles are unregistered
- you and your drivers receive their new registration labels on time
NEW POLICY COMMENCING 1 August 2011
Where your contract has Registration Renewal selected as an inclusion TFM will automatically renew the registration of a vehicle 14 days before the registration expires, unless you have previously advised us of your intention to return the vehicle at lease end.
The renewal will be for the minimum period allowed by each of the respective State transport authorities (or longer if you have committed to a longer extension).
The cost of re-registration will be re-charged to you.
We trust that you both understand and support the position we have taken on this critical part of our fleet management service to you.
Kind regards,
Ed Stanistreet
