With over a decade in salary packaging, there’s few people better equipped to explain its merits than Emma Quick. She spends her days talking to employers, reinforcing the benefits of offering packaging to their staff at no cost to the business. Once they’re on board, Emma goes in to educate the employees on what they can salary sacrifice to save on tax.

Of course, there’s more to the role than simply selling a product. So, we dig a little deeper to learn what else makes Emma tick.

How long have you been in the fleet industry?
I started in salary packaging in 2004, and I’ve been at TFM for five years.

How do you support the business?
I help employers and employees understand salary packaging. It’s when employees pay for an expense like a car, and can potentially get more take-home pay through tax savings. We do all the admin so it’s great for busy employers. Both sides benefit.

What do you like about working at TFM?
The people are great – it’s a fun place to work. It’s very collaborative which makes it easy. And even though the team is spread across the country I still feel really connected.

Do you have any words of wisdom?
Build strong relationships with people you work with and don’t burn any bridges. 

What motivates you every day?
I love bringing new customers on board. I strongly believe in our salary packaging product, which makes it easy to sell.

How do you feel you’ve grown in your time at TFM?
I’ve learned how to build relationships on every level. Becoming a manager has taught me the value in being transparent and supportive.

What’s been your biggest achievement at TFM?
Winning the Queensland government’s business and becoming a panel member representing TFM. They are now our biggest novated lease customer.

What does leadership mean to you?
Bringing people on the journey, and giving them encouragement and support.

Tell me something about yourself that nobody knows
I’m a country girl from north western Victoria. My family has a farm.
