With extensive experience in fleet, Ross Anderson has learned the challenges Australian small businesses face. We talk to Ross about TFM’s financing products designed to support small business, as well as what drives Ross to succeed each and every day.
In one of his first roles as a Fleet Dealer Manager, with the support of the Toyota Dealer network, Ross learned how small businesses operate, and helped them thrive with finance products designed to save time and money. To this day, Ross is still dedicated to small business customers.
As a long-term employee of Toyota Fleet Management (TFM), Ross Anderson starts by explaining what’s kept him here.
“I love the people and the culture. I’ve made many friends over the years which means I enjoy coming to work.”
Ross has cemented these relationships by sharing his love of fitness, running a boot camp for his colleagues each morning for the past 10 years.
“It’s very rewarding to see people improve their fitness and health – I hope they enjoy it as much as I do.”
Of course, the business side is just as important to Ross. He’s passionate about looking after his customers and working hard to help them achieve their goals.
“The fact that we’ve been so successful brings me great satisfaction. It feels good knowing I’ve been able to contribute to that success.”
What’s your background in fleet?
Through my extensive work with the dealers as a Fleet sales manager, TFM identified the need for a dedicated dealer resource. This lead to my appointment as TFM’s first ever Fleet Dealer Manager (FDM). As the first in the country, I was able to break new ground, partnering with dealers to help identify new opportunities and support them to attract new fleet business opportunities.
How has the FDM role evolved?
It has been a hugely successful position for the company. From my early days crafting the FDM role, we’ve seen the team grow to eight across the country. Each team member is responsible for bringing new small (and large) business customers on board and supporting our valuable dealer network in any way we can.
What products does TFM offer these customers?
TFM champions two fully maintained small business products. First is
• Maintained Chattel Mortgage - a smart way to buy a vehicle with potential tax savings. Or;
• CompleteLease - which conveniently bundles the costs associated with a vehicle lease in one.
Either option is great for small business owners, who are looking for support to keep their fleet running smoothly so that they can get back to business.
How does the finance work?
With both products, all running costs are bundled into one monthly payment. This payment can include things like maintenance, servicing, tyres and rego. You can even add roadside assistance, insurance and a TFM Fuel Card. It’s a hassle-free way to finance a fleet, that saves a small business precious time and money. And you don’t need a deposit, so it’s a great way to free up cash flow.
