TFM appoints new QLD state manager

Toyota Fleet management (TFM) has renewed its focus on the Queensland region by appointing a new state manager with nearly two decades of fleet management experience.

James Bridekirk took up the role late last year and brings with him considerable experience in sales and development roles in fleet management.

He has been with TFM for 10 years, most recently in the position of fleet strategy manager working on internal projects, systems implementations and development, as well as strategic planning. His experience in the fleet management industry stretches back to the late 1990s.

One of Mr Bridekirk’s top priorities is to diversify TFM’s client base in the face of a changing economic environment.

“With the ever-changing market environment in Queensland our focus is to broaden our client portfolio to build further on key market segments such as local councils, government, not-for-profit groups and corporate clients,” Mr Bridekirk said.

“This creates a real opportunity for us. There’s huge potential for growth in our products, including novated leases, operating leases, term purchases, chattel mortgages and salary packaging products.

“We can finance a wide range of vehicles and equipment, from passenger vehicles to light and heavy commercial, plus material handling equipment and excavators,” he said.

A key element of TFM’s strategy for the region is to provide a key point of difference in the Queensland fleet market.

“We pride ourselves on trust and transparency combined with the professionalism and industry knowledge of our people. This is where we can really make a difference and add value to a client’s business,” he said.

“We are also unique in that we offer a ‘one-stop shop’ of services like financier, fleet manager and salary packaging provider. Additionally, the strength of our ‘One Toyota’ offering – taking in Toyota, Lexus, Toyota Material Handling and Hino – means we are well placed to provide considerable savings, convenience and efficiencies for our customers.”

TFM General Manager Ed Stanistreet said he welcomed the appointment of a skilled and experienced fleet management professional to an important region.

“With the promotion of his predecessor to a national fleet sales role James has stepped up to this new challenge and our customers in Queensland will benefit from his extensive fleet management experience,” he said.
